Changes...

Recently I received the opportunity to report for a local news agency, so Seasons In the Abyss is about to undergo some changes...

For a while I wasn't sure what direction that my blog would take and I sort of just wrote about whatever I chose, including local news. Having accepted the chance to write for Stettler Local (www.stettlerlocal.com) I no longer need to have an outlet for local news, as the void that is apparent in news reporting in the Stettler area will no doubt be filled by this exciting new online news format. In fact, as I write this I have already had a piece published, albeit not an event of major scale. Due to this I will no longer publish articles here about the subject of local area news.

Due to my new affiliation with Stettler Local my opinion pieces (typically mostly political) will now be found exclusively at View From The Crowe's Nest (www.viewfromthecrowesnest.com). This will help further distance my opinion from my job of the simple recording of facts in news sharing with any luck. Hoping to also distance myself from active public debate regarding things I hold an opinion on on social media that may effect my ability to report on those facts, this will give me an outlet for my opinion without using those aforementioned avenues.

As far as Seasons In The Abyss? I had thought about using it as a means to review shows, post pictures of concerts and so on, and I may still do so. I had such a good time up front at the last Black Label Society show that I barely took any pictures and certainly didn't spend enough time to analyze the show to the point of a review, but that is a review in itself I would think. We'll have to see what happens in this regard.

In the meantime, the world is gripped with something different. An unseen virus that holds the world in fear as buildings are closed, people are urged to stay at home and avoid contact with one another. For now, this is what I will be writing about here...
